The U.S. Department of Education has launched a Title IX investigation into the Tumwater School District over claims the district allowed a trans athlete to participate in a girls basketball game. The Tumwater School Board voted last week in favor of a resolution to ban trans girls from competing in girls sports. Despite that, the education department is threatening to withhold federal money if Washington state continues to allow trans athletes on girls teams.
