More than $80 million in federal funding has been distributed to 18 of the state's municipalities to build new learning centers that will be functional by the end of 2026. (WJAR) — Cranston's Budlong Pool officially won't open this summer. At the time, city leaders said it would delay the pool's opening by approximately six weeks and the pool possibly wouldn't open this summer. Earlier in the year, excavation crews found an undocumented aqueduct that was delivering groundwater to the area, creating more work. (WJAR)Now they've confirmed the pool won't open until 2026.

Rhode Island lawmakers are considering increasing fees for passengers on the Block Island Ferry and other boats docking in Block Island's Old Harbor and Narragansett's Port of Galilee. If passed, the landing fee in each town would increase by 50 cents and passengers would have to start paying a dollar more per round trip ticket. NBC 10's Gabrielle Caracciolo spoke with lawmakers. (WJAR)First introduced in 1991, the landing fee helps both municipalities cover related expenses.
