OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — There is a surprising amount of detail for a painting so surprisingly large. “And it will be elevated a good 16 feet off the floor,” explains Artist David Holland, standing in front of a canvas that measures 16 feet tall and 9 feet wide. He started first with blue sky and puffy clouds, then moved lower in elevation, bit by bit, week by week. “When did you first apply brush to canvas?” we ask.

WETUMKA, Okla. (KFOR) — ‘Something to Hide,’ ‘The Reckoning,’ and ‘The Appeal’ are all better titles than descriptions for someone like Joan Hill, who might not remember all the volumes in this 10,000-book library. What she does know are the names of just about every person in town who might come to check out a book, make copies, or use the computer. Mrs. Hill has been the Head Librarian here since Wetumka rebuilt its City Hall and the attached library back in 1972. “I don’t know,” she wonders.

She is the author of several books, including her own memoir from that time. Only an infant in the Spring of 1975, her father was a South Vietnamese soldier but secretly married to an American.
