According to police and prosecutors, Kurt Rillema is an example of how your past can catch up with you. Rillema is the prime suspect in the rape of a student on a Penn State golf course in 2000.

Pennsylvania’s Secretary of Agriculture says recent federal funding cuts for food banks and similar assistance programs not only hurts those in need, but also Pennsylvania farmers, who provide the food supplies. CENTRE COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — The number of inmates at the Centre County Prison remains relatively low and officials say that’s partially due to an extended court system, which includes more programs for those charged with a crime. Centre County has four specialty courts, including a DUI court, a drug court, and veterans court --- for offenders who could benefit with added counseling. With more funding reportedly on the way, officials say the specialty court programs will benefit.

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — There is more legal drama for the Penn State Board of Trustees as one trustee is now asking a Centre County judge to make an "emergency ruling" to put him back on the ballot for the upcoming trustee membership election. Amidst concerns about tuition, the fate of Commonwealth campuses, and other issues, at a recent state legislative hearing, Penn State president Neeli Bendapudi also heard commentary about a change in election policy for board of trustee candidates.

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — The 2023 death of an inmate at the Rockview State Prison is the subject of a new, federal court suit. Authorities say Richard Woods died in April of 2023 and his death was ruled a suicide by hanging. But the wrongful death suit, filed by Woods' estate, challenges that ruling, claiming that he had extensive injuries and bruising when he died. Woods was one of four inmates at Rockview who died during a seven-week period in 2023, and all were ruled suicides.
