VIDEO: AN amateur film-maker from Burtonwood, Warrington, has produced an award-winning short film highlighting the importance of creative expression in mental health recovery. The Quiet Space, produced by Mental Health Support worker Justin Walker, is a unique project involving a collaboration between himself and two service users, individuals who are under a community mental health team. Miles plays the lead role but also contributed to the initial concept/idea for the film’s story.

OFFICERS have released an image of a man they would like to speak to in relation to a suspicious incident involving two teenage girls walking near a church in Warrington. On Wednesday 30 April, two 14-year-old girls were walking along Canons Road, Great Sankey, Warrington, shortly before 3.15 pm. They spotted a man standing outside St James Church who they believed may have attempted to take photographs of them. They reported that the man then continued to follow them until reaching Sycamore Lane.

A child has been arrested as part of an ongoing investigation after fifty people were evacuated from their homes following a major fire at flats on Marsh House Lane, Warrington. At 5.28 pm on Monday, 2 June, emergency services were called to a fire at a block of flats in Marsh House Lane in Warrington. Fifty occupants of the flats were evacuated by firefighters and assessed by paramedics at the scene. Thankfully, there were no reports of any serious injuries.

Warrington Liberal Democrats have welcomed the decision by the NHS to invest £3m in vital building maintenance and safety improvements at Warrington and Halton Hospitals as part of an £750m Estates Safety Fund announced by the Department of Health and Social Care.
