Spectrum Reach Promotes Dan Callahan to SVP & CRO

NEW YORK—Charter’s Spectrum Reach advertising sales division has promoted Dan Callahan to senior vice president and chief revenue officer. He succeeds Jason Brown who was named executive vice president of Spectrum Reach earlier this year. In the new role Callahan will be responsible for all revenue generation activities at Spectrum Reach. He will continue to report to Brown and is based in New York City.

LEXINGTON, Ky.—The ad rep firm Viamedia has appointed Robert Benoit as its new chief financial officer. Benoit appointment fills a role that has been open since 2022 and comes at a pivotal time for Viamedia as it continues to expand its footprint. The appointment, which was effective June 10, follows the recent announcements of Viamedia’s acquisition of digital advertising company LocalFactor and a subsequent restructuring of Viamedia’s executive structure along client-focused lines of reporting.

Lionsgate and DirecTV have announced plans to launch the Lionsgate Collection, a free ad-supported streaming channel that will offer programming from the studio’s massive film and television library. The channel will be available to all DirecTV customers across its full suite of satellite and streaming offerings, including the company’s MyFree DirecTV free ad-supported television (FAST) platform. The service will be launching in the coming weeks, the two companies reported.

Nielsen: Streaming Reaches Historic TV Viewing Milestone

NEW YORK—Nielsen is reporting that streaming reached a historic milestone in May of 2025 as its share of total television viewing outpaced the combined share of broadcast and cable for the first time ever. According to Nielsen’s monthly report of The Gauge, streaming represented 44.8% of TV viewership in May 2025, its largest share of viewing to date, while broadcast (20.1%) and cable (24.1%) combined to represent 44.2% of TV.

Senate Votes to Confirm Trusty as FCC Commissioner

WASHINGTON—The U.S. Senate has voted to confirm Republican Olivia Trusty as a Commissioner at the Federal Communications Commission. The confirmation gives the Republicans a two to one majority and will allow FCC Chair Brendan Carr, a Republican, to push forward with his deregulatory agenda at the agency. Trusty’s nomination was confirmed by a 53 to 45 vote on June 17 mostly along party lines.
