Netflix reported generally positive results for Q1 2015 with revenue up 13% YoY to $10.543 billion and operating income growing by 27% to $3.347 billion. Both were ahead of the streamers guidance due to slightly higher subscription and ad revenue and the timing of expenses. Earnings per share hit $6.61. The earnings topped Wall Street expectations and investors reacted generally positively to the news with the stock up 3.03% in afterhours trading at 7:10 p.m. ET.

PEARL RIVER, N.Y.—Global media solutions company Active Media Services (AMS) has formed a new relationship with VideoAmp, a measurement company for linear, CTV and digital advertising. VideoAmp's suite of offerings will enable several product initiatives that will give AMS clients the ability to reach and measure custom audiences across the full video landscape, AMS said.

In a ruling that could have a major impact on the digital advertising market, a federal judge has ruled that Google has monopolized some types of advertising technologies in violation of U.S. anti-trust laws and that it used that market power to illegally dominate the online ad market. The U.S. Department of Justice and eight states filed the case against Google in January of 2023. Eventually nine other states for a total of 17 joined the Justice Department in filing an amended complaint.

WASHINGTON—The FCC’s call for public comments and suggestions on outdated regulations that it should be eliminated, has prompted a slew of fillings from broadcasters urging the agency to abolish its ownership caps and a host of other regulations. The FCC’s deregulatory push and the creation of a docket for public comments called “In Re: Delete, Delete, Delete”, had made Docket 25-133 one of the most popular items on the agency’s website, with over 910 filings as of April 17.

NEW YORK—Internet advertising revenues demonstrated strong growth in 2024, increasing 14.9% year-over-year to $258.6 billion, according to the “IAB Internet Advertising Revenue Report: Full Year 2024.”The study, which showed the strongest gains since 2021, was conducted by PwC. Digital video advertising was particularly strong, growing 19.2% to $62.1 billion, accounting for 24% of the digital ad market.
