BAY MINETTE, Ala. (WKRG) — Local high school football teams will soon be playing under the Friday night lights. The Baldwin County Tigers are looking to take a big step in year two under head coach Andrew Davis. Baldwin County had some understandable growing pains in the very tough Class 6A Region 1. However, momentum is building for the program this spring. The team is in its first full offseason under Davis and his staff. The continuity has helped with implementing scheme and expectations.

DAPHNE, Ala. (WKRG) — Local high school football teams are hard at work this offseason as they gear up for the fall. Bayside Academy has plenty of momentum coming off a strong 2024 season. Head coach Barrett Trotter enters his third season with the program. The former Auburn quarterback led the Admirals to nine wins and a trip to the quarterfinal round of the Class 3A playoffs.

GULF SHORES, Ala. (WKRG) — Spring football is here, and it’s time to hit the beach in Gulf Shores to check in with the Dolphins. The Dolphins dominated their way to a state championship in 2023 with a 15-0 record in 5A. In 2024, the competition ramped up as Gulf Shores moved up to Class 6A Region 1. Still, the Dolphins were just one game out of a playoff spot.

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — We are still months away from the high school football season, but the work has begun for teams along the Gulf Coast looking to take home a Blue Map in December. Among the many schools that saw a change at the head coaching position, one of the most notable was at UMS-Wright. For the first time in nearly three decades, there’s a new man in charge off Old Shell Road. Sam Williams was named the successor to legendary Terry Curtis, who retired in February.
