Nelson Brooke has patrolled the the Black Warrior River as Riverkeeper for two decades. In this role he has served as an advocate for the Black Warrior River and it’s the entire watershed, which spans 17 counties across the state of Alabama. In honor of Brooke’s 20 year anniversary, we’re highlighting some of his most acclaimed achievements as Riverkeeper. A Riverkeeper aids a nonprofit like Black Warrior Riverkeeper in upholding its purpose in regards to the nonprofit’s designated river.
