AUSTIN, Texas — Memorial Day weekend is just around the corner, and the KVUE Weather Team is tracking a mostly pleasant weekend that may close out on a wetter note. To kick off the weekend, Friday will be a partly sunny, dry day across Central Texas. Temperatures in the afternoon will again rise into the mid- and upper 90s. While actual temperatures are in the 90s, things will also be quite humid. Expect "feels like" temperatures to be in the upper 90s or 100 degrees.

Heat will begin to build on Monday afternoon, with highs ranging from the upper 80s to the lower 90s. The heatwave begins more so on Tuesday as highs are expected to reach triple digits.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) does not release its official hurricane season forecast until late May, just ahead of the start of hurricane season on June 1.
