It was hot and the Blair Senior Legion baseball team needed to regroup Friday after its first Dave Van Metre Tournament game at Brown Park in Omaha. “Honestly, the bugaboo that we've had is a couple of walks at the wrong time,” Post 154 coach James Bilslend said after the 6-5 loss to Lincoln Northwest. “They get a couple of walks, and then they get a hit, and for some reason it leads to a crooked number in runs.”After a short break, Blair went right into a game with Gretna East Black.

The Arlington Senior Legion baseball team is 3-4 overall after its two most-recent Ralph Bishop League games. After a loss at home Friday night, Post 71 played a makeup game Saturday night at Columbus Lakeview, falling 10-4. Coach TJ Stosich's team scored all four of its runs during the top of the third inning, breaking a 0-0 tie. According to Lakeview stat-keeping, Luke Sharp first reached base on an error before Tyler Ott walked and Dallin Franzluebbers singled to load the bases.

Post 348 built a 2-0 lead, but it couldn't earn a victory against Omaha Roncalli, losing 3-2 on its home diamond. The loss dropped coach Jerry Wellwood's team to 6-7 this season. “We all need to have better approaches at the plate,” centerfielder AJ Duros said.
