    LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The Fayette County Board of Education voted to approve raising the occupational licensing tax Tuesday night. After hours of discussion, the decision was made in a a 3-2 vote. Board members were presented with a tentative budget that had a $16 million gap in revenue and expenditures. Board members Dr. Monica Mundy and Rebecca Ferguson tried to table the vote on the tax increase. The motion failed. While they both voted no on the tax increase, it did pass tonight.

    LONDON, Ky. (WKYT) - Brittany Lynn and her daughter survived the deadly EF-4 tornado that tore through Laurel County by huddling together in her bathtub. “I just want her to see how grateful we are to be alive today,” Lynn said. Today, the two lay flowers in front of the new memorial cross display on Keavy Road, a short distance from the Sunshine Hills Subdivision, which was devastated by the tornado. 17 people died that night, now their names are displayed here.

    LONDON, Ky. (WKYT) - The Laurel County community gathered to remember the 17 lives lost to last week’s deadly EF-4 tornado. A vigil was held at the London Corbin airport. That’s where survivors, victims’ families, volunteers and more came to pray together, to grieve together, and to remain hopeful together. As they say, they know through their faith and the support of each other, they’ll one day rebuild. “I’ve never seen a storm hit here like this.
