Customers have the chance to score free Italian ice for a year at the grand opening celebration for a Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard location near CoopersburgThe celebration will occur 4-6 p.m. Saturday at 7001 N. Rite Aid is looking to sell more than 1,200 locations, including several in the Lehigh Valley, as part of its latest Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. The drugstore chain previously said most of its stores would remain open for a few months as part of the proceedings, and that it would work to transfer prescriptions to other pharmacies. It’ll eventually sell or close all locations.

An Allentown shoe store has announced its upcoming closure and rebranding, just two years after finding a permanent home. Properly Laced will close its location at the Live/Work Unit at The Hive Residences at 107 N. Seventh St., it announced on Instagram Tuesday. The women’s apparel retailer Rainbow will close later this month at the Palmer Park Mall in Palmer Township. The store will close around May 15, Assistant Manager DeOnna Parker said, adding that the Rainbow chain decided this, due insufficient sales at the store. There was no word on what would replace the mall’s Rainbow location, Parker said, and mall management couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
