Visitors were down just over 5% in April, compared to the same time last year. Rideshare drivers in the valley told 8 News Now it is affecting their business. “You can tell this city is not pulsing the way it used to,” Uber driver Valentino Xhakli said.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A woman who was struck by a Henderson police sergeant said she is working with an attorney to file a lawsuit. Sgt. Scott Alward is seen on video striking Nakeisha Kelly, 38, on Oct. 26, 2024. “You’re supposed to protect and serve the community,” Kelly told the 8 News Now Investigators. “You’re not protecting this community.”Kelly said she did not know she could file a complaint against Alward at the police department, and she did not know how to prove Alward struck her.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Metro police narcotics officers recovered more than 800 pounds of marijuana during an investigation involving an illegal growing operation on Thursday. Police said they executed a search warrant and found 814 pounds of marijuana at a residence in a northwest valley neighborhood near Alexander Road and Tenaya Way. A photo released by Metro police showed about 80 boxes of evidence lined up on the street. Officers said they dismantled the grow operation.
