Mathew and Susie Gillikin aim to replicate a Tokyo street market with their new arcade in Boise’s Idaho Capital Asian Market plaza. Isekai, which means a fantasy world that a human enters, will feature more than 100 gashapon, claw, and vending machines, filled with tiny toys, plushies, and authentic Japanese snacks and drinks. “So, like Alice in Wonderland, Wonderland is an isekai because Alice went into it,” Mathew Gillikin explained.

Payette Brewing is downsizing — but not disappearing. A reader noticed a “for lease” sign in front of the brewery on Pioneer St. in Boise on Thursday. A listing from TOK Commercial Real Estate shows that 27,000 square feet, which is the majority of the building, is available. It’s advertised as flexible office and warehouse space. An image on the flyer shows that the taproom and beer garden are not a part of the listing.
