Richmond police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead on Walmsley Boulevard on Thursday night. Officers were called to the scene near Angus Road at around 11:15 p.m. for the report of a person shot. On scene they found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Anyone with information about this homicide is asked to call Major Crimes Detective A.

Richmond police are asking for the public's help in their investigation of multiple armed robberies of U.S. Postal Service workers. On March 28, 2024, at around 2:10 p.m., officers were called to East Franklin Street near North 22nd Street. Upon arrival, they found a postal worker who said a man flashed a handgun and demanded that she give him the mail key. She says the suspect then fled on foot towards North 21st Street.

A gun went off inside a third grade classroom at Lee Hill Elementary School on Monday while inside the backpack of a student. The Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office says the handgun discharged just before 11 a.m., and the teacher evacuated all 26 students from the classroom. The teacher then alerted the school resource officer who was on site. Early interviews by investigators suggest there was no intent to do harm by the student who had the gun.

Greg Muzik, the beloved principal of Mary Munford Elementary School, is still in intensive care nearly a month after being . Logan Muzik, the principal's daughter, has been posting regular updates on her father's condition to the Caring Bridge website. She says her dad sustained multiple serious injuries including a broken pelvis, multiple rib fractures, a broken hand, spinal fractures and other broken bones. Logan says her father has had at least ten surgeries since the crash on March 11.
