MESA, Ariz. — A Mesa woman is in jail after police said she tried to kill her 8-year-old son while another child was also in the house. The Mesa Police Department responded to a home near Broadway Road and Center Street at 6:15 a.m. after a woman called 911 to report she had physically attacked her son, a statement from the Mesa Police Department said. The 8-year-old was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that were considered to be non-life-threatening, police said.
