    WASHINGTON, D.C. — This week, Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) rescinded Biden-era guidance on emergency abortions under the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA). “The guidance that had existed made very clear that when the health of the mother was at risk that abortion was an appropriate type of medical service,” Chris Daley with the ACLU of Indiana said.

In Indiana, the program has helped thousands of low-income, disadvantaged and young Hoosiers (ages 16-24) receive job training and credentials of value for the last 60 years.
