Every parent who applied for a place at infants or primary school for their child this year in North East Lincolnshire has been allocated their first choice of school. Parents and carers of children who are due to start at infants or primary school for the first time in September 2025, have been notified of their child’s school place allocation decision on National Offer Day. A total of 1354 applications were received for children living in North East Lincolnshire by the published closing date.

Parents and carers across the East Riding are finding out which primary school their children will attend in September. The proportion of children in the East Riding who have been awarded their first preference of primary or infant school for September 2025 is 96.3 percent. This year, East Riding of Yorkshire Council received 2,800 applications from parents and carers, and 2,695 (96.3 percent) have received their first choice of school.

Security upgrades have been made to Hull's Osborne Street car park - including new CCTV on the stairwells. Following the award of £46,975.23 in funding from the Hotspot Response Fund at the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner and in a bid to tackle anti-social behaviour, 14 new CCTV cameras have been installed on the stairwells of the multi-storey structure - an area historically not monitored by the council.
