Counter-terrorism police are investigating an incident in Yorkshire in which two women were seriously injured. West Yorkshire Police were called to Otley Road, Leeds at 2.47pm yesterday to reports of an ongoing serious incident involving a man seen with weapons. A spokesperson said officers attended and located three people who had suffered injuries which are at this time not being treated as life threatening. Two were women, who were taken to hospital.

Olly Murs has been forced to cancel his Hull gig due to a bug which has affected him, his band and the crew. The singer was due to appear at the Connexin Live Arena in the city on Sunday night, but has had to cancel both that and a gig in Brighton tonight. Plans are underway to reschedule both. The singer wrote on social media: "I hate that I have to write this & really so sorry to let you guys down, but unfortunately, we are having to reschedule our next two shows in Brighton & Hull.

The demolition of the former Top Town Market will begin next week. This is the first part of the demolition phase of works for the Freshney Place leisure scheme. Since the project started on the ground earlier this year, lots of work has been going on in the old market hall. The asbestos has been removed, along with the suspended ceiling and much of the mechanical and electrical equipment. All waste has been separated into streams for recycling.
