PENSACOLA, Fla. -- WEAR News has identified the victim of a Pensacola homicide. The mother of the victim confirmed his identity with us on Saturday. His body was found Friday in an empty field. He was reported missing for less than 24-hours. The victim in what deputies believe to be a Friday homicide is 20-year-old Andrew Sanders. Sanders' mother also announced his passing on Facebook. The Escambia County Sheriff's Office had listed Sanders as 'missing endangered' Thursday evening.

PENSACOLA, Fla. -- The state house budget committee advanced its tax package Tuesday that aims to lower property taxes. It would do that by giving counties freedom to spend money collected from bed taxes on anything they wanted. The package was introduced in February. Just Monday, an amendment was filed that would get rid of Tourism and Development councils by the end of this year. House Bill 1221 frees up the use of Tourism Development Tax dollars.

NAVARRE, Fla. -- A girl in Navarre is working to get herself a specialized bed -- and her fundraising efforts are also helping others. Lilliana Boczar is a vibrant 11-year-old girl. She's a one-of-a-kind. "She's the only person in the world to have both Williams Syndrome and Rett Syndrome," her mother Mari Boczar said. They are both chromosomal mutations. She's missing about 20 genes. "The main one is the elastin," Mari said.

PENSACOLA, Fla. --15 years ago, the Deepwater Horizon oil rig exploded 40 miles off the coast of Louisiana. The BP-owned rig eventually spilled nearly 5 million barrels of oil and gas a day. It took 87 days to cap the well. The months-long crisis reached five states. The first sign of oil washing up on Pensacola Beach was in June of 2010. "I remember the tar balls washing up on the beach for months, and even years afterwards," a Gulf Breeze service industry worker during the oil spill, Michael said.
