PERDIDO KEY, Fla. -- A brush fire scorched 30 acres of land in Perdido Key Friday afternoon. The fire was in the area of Corinna Street near Sorrento and Innerarity Point roads. First responders say the wind and wet marshy areas made it difficult to fight. It took Escambia County Fire Rescue with mutual aid from the state and city of Pensacola about four hours to contain it.

PENSACOLA, Fla. -- A nearly $22 million state road project is underway in downtown Pensacola. Hundreds of construction cones now line Garden Street. And like many road projects, it's affecting the traffic into businesses along the route. Several businesses there are trying to stay positive during this disruption. All of the businesses are looking forward to the final product. That will include upgraded sidewalks and on-street parking to bring in customers. But that is several months away.

Many grocery items will be impacted, including coffee, fruit, dairy, rice and seafood. Economists and local store managers say tariffs have not driven up prices in grocery stores yet. But they anticipate that happening soon.
