That was put in place as part of the “Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics,” better known as the PACT Act in 2022.     ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. -- Escambia County is working to address emergency medical services in the northern part of the county. WEAR News previously reported issues of long wait times as early 2021. So far, the county has put in efforts from upgrades, new ambulances and more recruitment tactics. EMS Director Chris Watts says this is an extension of that plan. Starting this Friday, there will be three ambulances in north Escambia County. It’s all in an effort to improve response times.
