0 Alice Reynolds, a final year Physics student at Exeter, and Bristol student Caroline Cardozo will be running the London Marathon later this April in honour of our late headmistress Antonia Beary’s battle with cancer. I myself was in the same year as both Alice and Caroline, and we were all incredibly sad to hear of Miss Beary’s passing in October last year.

0 With the cheerleading and dance competition season in full swing, our very own Exeter Emeralds are already showcasing their talent, bringing home several trophies and medals. The Jazz and Lyrical teams were both crowned National Champions at their first competition – the Future Cheer University Nationals, held in Manchester.

0 Immanuel Feyi-Waboso scored his first international try in just his second match for England, but could not prevent the Red Rose from suffering Calcutta Cup defeat. He is one of three current Exeter students competing at this year’s Six Nations, with Dafydd Jenkins captaining Wales while Ross Vintcent earned his first call-up to the senior Italy side.

0 Although February was unseasonably mild, Snowsports still found a way to bring a small slice of the Alps to Exeter on the 17th February, as Chill Hill returned to campus for the first time since 2017. This was a project of epic proportions. 50 tonnes of snow were shipped in from Milton Keynes to create a ski slope down Forum Hill, and thousands of students flocked to campus on a Saturday for an après-ski festival atmosphere.

0 The Australian Open is the first tennis major championship of the year and the 2024 edition began on the 7th of January, but some fan favourites were missing. Two-time winner Rafael Nadal unfortunately had to pull out of the competition, having torn a muscle in his hip whilst competing in Brisbane in an attempt to become match fit for the major.
