The Government’s Employment Rights Bill (“the Bill”) was laid before parliament on 10 October 2024. And at more than 150 pages and containing 28 employment measures, it should not be underestimated. Hailed as “the biggest upgrade to workers’ rights in a generation,” it is a significant piece of legislation in the UK. Much of what is proposed is ambitious and will represent a marked shift from existing practices.
