A top official from the Pittsburgh International Airport will take over leadership of the rapidly growing Sarasota Bradenton International Airport as a longtime executive exits after three decades. SRQ Airport announced Paul Hoback Jr., executive vice president and chief development officer with the Allegheny County Airport Authority (ACAA) and Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT), will be its new president and CEO beginning Oct. 19.

The public will have a chance to hear plans for potential Clark Road (State Road 72) improvements from the Florida Department of Transportation this week. The agency will host a public hearing about potential improvements to Clark Road east of Interstate 75 on June 26. The project, still subject to change, may include widening part of the road to four lanes.

Site plans for a towering residential project in downtown Sarasota are officially in the books. The Adagio, a condominium project for 172 residential units and commercial space across two towers, filed site plans with the city of Sarasota Tuesday. Slated for 1360 Ringling Blvd., the project’s first tower will include market-rate units and stretch 18 stories, with a second tower of affordable residential units reaching 10 stories.

A Sarasota School of Architecture-designed Siesta Key home is hitting the market. The Ness House, a 4,006-square-foot home at 7647 Sanderling Road, is listed for $5.3 million. The house, designed by Sarasota architect Tim Seibert, was built in 1958 and inspired by the sleek, minimalist Sarasota School model.

A popular discount grocery chain is headed for Arcadia. Arcadia’s first Aldi location, the former Winn-Dixie at 1737 E. Oak St., will open June 12. The store is one of hundreds slated to open across the U.S. as Aldi converts former Winn-Dixie locations to its own brand. The first 100 customers at the 8:45 a.m. grand opening will receive a gift bag filled with Aldi products and a gift card as part of the Aldi Golden Ticket gift card giveaway program, per a press release.
