Sarasota deputies arrested a Palmetto man and a Bradenton teenager in connection with a November 2024 Twin Lakes Park shooting that killed a teenager. Carlos Romero-Tomas, 20, was arrested on Thursday for the Nov. 3 shooting and faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, discharging a firearm in public and giving false information concerning the commission of a crime. North Port man shot friend during argument, victim died on the way to hospital: policeA 26-year-old North Port man was arrested Thursday for homicide after shooting his friend several times following an argument. North Port officers responded to 8171 Rocliff Avenue at 9:18 p.m. after reports of a shooting were made. When officers arrived, they found Michael Reinel, 26, who was leaving the residence with his hands up.

A Manatee County man was extradited from Colorado on Wednesday for murder charges related to a Bradenton burglary. Aldo Armijos-Castillo, 32, was transferred to the Manatee County Jail, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s arrest log. A felony arrest warrant was issued for Armijos-Castillo on Jan. 6 in relation to a Dec. 26 home invasion that left one man dead.

A Sarasota man was arrested in Louisiana on Wednesday in connection to the killing of a woman. Djalma Johan Gordon, 41, faces charges for the murder of a woman in the 2200 block of Ringling Boulevard. Sarasota Police detectives responded to the residence to conduct a welfare check on Tuesday at 8 p.m. After entering the home, officers found a woman dead. Investigators determined that she was the victim of homicidal violence.
