No one is believed to be injured at this time, however there are significant delays along the Green and Yellow lines as a result of the station being temporarily closed due to a police investigation. There are also now confirmed reports by the Hyattsville Volunteer Fire Department of a man hit by a metro train at the West Hyattsville Station.

SAN DIEGO — Recent headlines have talked about the amount of foreclosures in California jumping 50-70% higher than pandemic-era lows. CBS 8’s Heather Myers looked at the foreclosure market in San Diego County and had an opportunity to tour a 15,000 square foot mansion that is currently in foreclosure. The mansion is located in the gated Alvarado Estates Community, near San Diego State University. The trees outside the home are overgrown and there is a giant lock on the front door.

SAN DIEGO — In the center of San Diego, tucked in the heart of Mid-City, sits a middle school where 69% of its students consider themselves homeless, the most of any school in the San Diego Unified School District. A few blocks away in City Heights is an elementary school that has 231 homeless students. Less than a mile from both schools is a high school which has 385 children who say they have no permanent residence.

SAN DIEGO — San Diego based insurance broker Kiyoma Yoshizumi says his office has been inundated with phone calls from new clients for weeks. Thousands of San Diego County homeowners are seeing their homeowner’s insurance bill skyrocket. “We are getting about 2-5 new phone calls a day from new clients, basically saying my premium went up 3-5 times last year can you find me anything better or I am being non-renewed by my current insurance company,” Yoshizumi told CBS 8’s Heather Myers.
