    WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - Volunteers from Peyton’s Promise say they collected more than 700 pounds of pop tabs during the first Concerts on the Square event in Wausau. Peyton’s Promise started collecting pop tabs in honor of Sophia Van Ermen in 2015. Annually, the group hosts ‘Pop Tabs for Sophia”. Sophia’s family stayed at the Ronald McDonald House in Milwaukee while Sophia waited for an organ transplant. Sadly, Sophia passed away before receiving the transplant.

    MINOCQUA, Wis. (WSAW) - One person is dead after a rollover crash on Highway 51 near Timber Ridge Road in Minocqua. The Minocqua Police Department responded to the scene at 10:56 a.m. on Thursday. Police say the driver was traveling northbound on Hwy 51, went into the east ditch, hit a culvert and flipped. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity will be released once their family is notified.

Thursday in Madison, Republican Senator Julian Bradley of New Berlin, Republican Senate President Mary Felzkowski of Tomahawk, and Republican Representative Robert Wittke of Caledonia introduced Price Transparency for Patients. They say the bill would reduce healthcare costs through healthcare price transparency.

The gaming giant’s new console, the Switch 2, arrives on store shelves globally after being announced in April — marking Nintendo’s first major console launch since the original Switch arrived roughly eight years ago. And fans have clearly been waiting; 2.2 million people applied for a lottery system to buy the Switch 2 in Japan, according to a translation of an X post from Nintendo in April.
