SHAWNEE, Kan. (KCTV) - A 15-year-old student at Shawnee Mission Northwest High School has died just days after the academic year started. A sophomore student was taken to the hospital after requiring medical attention during an off-season conditioning practice. Johnson County MED-ACT confirmed that emergency services were called Wednesday afternoon to Shawnee Mission Northwest High School, and they took a 15-year-old student in critical condition to the hospital.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Months of speculation turn into reality as the sale of Kansas City’s Country Club Plaza becomes official. HP Village Management completed the purchase of the entertainment district from The Taubman Co. and Macerich Friday. “First thing is we’re going to bring a lot of security back to the Plaza,” Ray Washburne, President of Highland Park Management, said. The new owners wasted no time improving the safety at the Plaza.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Kansas City Chiefs will return to Germany, later this month. The organization announced a new exhibit at the Museum of Modern Electronic Music in Frankfurt. The exhibit is called “ChampionsHaus.”KC Wolf will make appearances, and fans will be able to attend a special meet-and-greet session with Chiefs safety Justin Reid during the two-day event on June 21 and June 22.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (KCTV) - Another Kansas City Chiefs player is in legal trouble this off-season. Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs, who played collegiately at Alabama, has misdemeanor animal cruelty warrants out for him Tuscaloosa Police said. A complaint filed in Tuscaloosa District Court says police found a pitbull and rottweiler on March 28 at a home Buggs had been renting.
