    LEAVENWORTH, Kan. (KCTV) - Additional charges have been filed in a case involving a former elementary school teacher in Leavenworth. Those new charges include an additional count for aggravated indecent liberties with a child, criminal restraint and four counts of battery. Riscovallez was fired from the Leavenworth Unified School District on Feb. 27, 2025. Court documents shared that the second count of aggravated indecent liberties with a child was between Aug. 1, 2023, and May 31, 2024.

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Missouri lawmakers have fully approved the stadium incentives designed to keep the Chiefs and Royals in the state. During their special session, the Missouri House of Representatives approved a bill Wednesday that would incentivize the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals to stay put and not move across state lines. This plan only benefits NFL and MLB teams, allowing them to make upgrades to existing stadiums or construct new stadiums.

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A Kansas police department released additional details regarding the arrest of a man on the run after he was charged with shooting a police officer. Thomas Tolbert, 27, was arrested about 300 miles away from the shooting site, taken into custody in Ellis, Kansas. He was accused of shooting a Lee’s Summit police officer during a domestic disturbance call at the Residences at Echelon apartment complex.

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Jackson County Legislator Manny Abarca was served a protection order on May 30, a day after an “incident” in Shawnee, Kansas. According to the court docket, the petitioner, whom KCTV5 confirmed is Abarca’s wife Alexis, was awarded custody. Abarca is ordered to stay away from and have no communication with the petitioner. An adult abuse hearing is scheduled for Monday, June 9, in the Jackson County courthouse.
