KENSINGTON, Minnesota — Erica Sawatzke remembers it was the day before Thanksgiving in 2023 when she noticed the family farm's turkeys were sick. By Thanksgiving night, they were testing the flock for highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) and by Black Friday, the results came back positive. "There's no way that you can mentally prepare yourself to lose an entire flock," Sawatzke said.

ROSEVILLE, Minnesota — This spring will be a game-changer for collegiate women's flag football. The Vikings are partnering with six NCAA schools in and near Minnesota to launch a new league. The schools participating include Augustana University (Sioux Falls, South Dakota), Concordia College, Gustavus Adolphus College, Bethel University, the University of Northwestern, St. Paul and the University of Wisconsin, Stout.

ST PAUL, Minn. — Retired St. Paul Police Officer Felicia Reilly, 67, died Saturday — 15 years after an assault on the job left her with a traumatic brain injury. Her family said her death was a result of the injuries she sustained that resulted in her experiencing constant pain. The St. Paul Police Retirement Association claims Reilly is the first female St. Paul officer to die from injuries received on the job.

WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. — When it's quiet enough to hear a pin drop, that's Brooke Schueneman's cue to start recording. "Welcome back to my channel," Schueneman whispers into her microphone.
