Helen Emmerson: So, as many of you will be aware, the Biodiversity Net Gain rules came into effect on 12 February this year and, five months on from their introduction, we are going to explore a couple of things. How is the policy translating into practice and what has been everyone's experience so far? The panel discussion is going to last for about 40 minutes and then we will open up the Q&A at the end.

Significant investment is required to match the scale of change needed. While this presents a barrier for local government, it can be overcome by combining private investment and expertise with local knowledge and experience.
