OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — With the Sooners down to their final out against Tennessee ace Karlyn Pickens, Ella Parker stepped into the batter’s box not trying to do too much. What she ended up doing was sending OU to the winner’s bracket of the NCAA Women’s College World Series. OU’s offense was stifled by Pickens throughout the day, in fact a solo homerun from Parker was the only run the Sooners scored through six innings.

HOLDENVILLE, Okla. (KFOR) — This school year KFOR is once again recognizing outstanding scholar-athletes. We are teaming up with Homeland to honor Isabella Smith of Holdenville High School. Isabella plays softball and basketball for the Wolverines and is also the class valedictorian. In her free time, she volunteers at the nursing home, the animal shelter, and also reads to preschool children.

Jake plays baseball for the Antlers while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Off the field, he helps with the Miracle League and the Homeless Alliance. (KFOR) — OU and OSU both had multiple players selected on Day 3 of the 2025 NFL Draft. The Sooners got the day started when the New Orleans Saints drafted LB Danny Stutsman in the 4th round with the 112th overall pick. Six picks later fellow defensive stalwart Billy Bowman went off the board, selected with the 118th overall pick by the Atlanta Falcons. Nick Martin was the first Cowboy drafted on Day 2, in the 3rd round by the San Francisco 49ers.

EDMOND, Okla. (KFOR) — This school year KFOR is once again recognizing outstanding scholar-athletes. We are teaming up with Homeland to honor Adam Froehlich of Edmond North High School. Adam plays soccer for the Huskies. In the classroom, he has a 4.0 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society. He participates in a fundraising campaign to raise money for local charities and raised the most among the boys at Edmond North. Adam also plans to study engineering in college.
