    RACINE — A man has been hospitalized and a woman has been taken into police custody following a shooting Wednesday night. Racine Police Department officers went to the 1500 block of Carlisle Avenue around 6:23 p.m. and reportedly found a 54-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the neck, according to a press release. The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police also took a 51-year-old woman into custody.

    RACINE — The Racine Common Council on Tuesday approved the process and schedule for the city’s 2026 budget discussions. Mayor Cory Mason will deliver his budget address Oct. 20, followed by a budget overview delivered by City Finance Director Kathleen Fischer at the Oct. 21 Common Council meeting. Several committee meetings will take place Oct. 22-30, and budget amendments are due in writing Oct. 31. Final budget adoption is scheduled for Nov. 6 during a special Common Council meeting.

    RACINE - The driver of a car that crashed into a local Walgreen's early Wednesday morning will be cited for a first offense of operating while intoxicated, according to the Racine Police Department. Officers were sent to the store at 819 N. Memorial Drive around 1 a.m., according to RPD Public Information Officer Alicia Mitchell. The driver of the blue sedan was taken to a hospital for minor injuries. No other injuries were reported, according to Mitchell.

    MOUNT PLEASANT - The village has confirmed new dates for four public hearings originally scheduled for June 9, including one related to a 618-unit housing development. The Mount Pleasant Village Board will hold a public hearing for a zoning map amendment for 7003 and 7222 Braun Road at 6 p.m. July 14.
