BOISE, Idaho — There's a saying that if you want to understand a place, start with its food. Maybe we should start with where it comes from. BOISE, Idaho — Sometimes history isn't just in the books, it's beneath our feet. BURLEY, Idaho — It’s a bill that continues to get more complicated. As you may recall, Senate Bill 1329 became law last year, having been passed quickly through the Idaho Legislature. It was intended to amend Idaho’s Parental Rights Act by preventing medical providers from performing medical procedures on minors without their parents’ consent. At the time, it was known as a “simple bill.” When it passed, becoming law on July 1, 2024, it was hailed as a win for parents.
