Party at the Palace organisers picked up the award recently THE music festival which featured performances from Alva's Stevie McCrorie and Amy Macdonald has been recognised by the National Outdoor Event Awards. At a prize ceremony in Bath recently, producers Peter Ferguson and John Richardson scooped the NOEA Scotland Tribute Award for Party at the Palace. The popular, family-friendly festival which takes place in West Lothian every year, and featured the Clacks singer this summer.

THE first observation you make when approach Knock Castle is just how understated the location is. It is tucked away in the hills near Crieff and sits perched over the town and surrounding countryside. And while its exterior and the grounds are joy in itself, the splendour of the lobby is something to behold. Who wouldn't want to be greeted by such an immaculate sight?

10 1/1 A SELECTION of Scottish artists are showcasing their work at Knock Castle in Perthshire with the launch of a new gallery within the hotel. Recently, hotel owner Jason Henderson appealed for local artists to submit their paintings for inclusion as the hotel introduced the new concept which has proved popular with guests. The hotel held an open night on Friday, December 1, where the artists mingled with guests to celebrate the gallery launch.

2 1/1 ALLOA band Vida have been announced for this year's Party at the Palace, with Embrace and Cast also joining the bill. Linlithgow's award-winning festival, now in its fifth year, had already snapped up James and Texas as the 2018 headliners. However, the two-day festival will now also feature a host of other great acts come August.

The Darkness have been announced for Midstock THE DARKNESS, Example and Ash will headline Midstock Festival in Midlothian this September. Taking place amid the backdrop of Dalkeith County Park, the annual event is among the last opportunities for live-music fans to get their summer festival fix. This year's line up has now been announced with Example topping the bill, with support from The Darkness and Ash.
