The deadline for submissions to the East Midlands Property Dinner awards has been extended to 27 June. The winners of 12 categories will be announced at a black–tie dinner at the De Vere East Midlands Conference Centre, Nottingham on 11 September.

A developer specialising in urban regeneration is set to build hundreds of homes across six brownfield sites in the Midlands. Wavensmere Homes has signed deals to build on plots in Birmingham and Nottingham, and plans to secure four more sites in Wolverhampton and Leicester.

The mayor of the West Midlands has told Insider that creating a £1bn tram link from Birmingham city centre to Birmingham City’s planned new £3bn stadium and on to the NEC is currently his biggest priority. Richard Parker said he hoped the scheme, which would require hundreds of millions of pounds of public funding, would be included in the government’s Spending Review on 11 June.
