TORONTO (AP) — Addison Barger put Toronto ahead with a three-run homer in the eighth inning and the Blue Jays rallied past the reeling Athletics 8-4 on Sunday to finish a four-game sweep. Barger’s drive to right field off Justin Sterner (1-2) extended the Athletics’ losing streak to six games. They have dropped 17 of 18 overall. The 412-foot drive was Barger’s fifth home run this season and third in three games. Toronto scored six times in the eighth, its second-biggest inning of the series.

TORONTO (AP) — Blue Jays outfielder George Springer skipped into third base on a key RBI hit by teammate Alejandro Kirk, and hopped right into an inning-ending out in the fifth on Sunday against the Athletics. Springer was called out following a replay review after Athletics third baseman Max Schuemann alertly kept his glove on the Blue Jays right fielder while Springer hopped up and down on third base.

TORONTO (AP) — Ernie Clement homered and had five RBIs, Bo Bichette homered and drove in three runs, and the Toronto Blue Jays used an eight-run second inning to rout the struggling Athletics 12-0 on Thursday night. José Berríos (2-2) and two relievers combined on a four-hitter as the Blue Jays recorded their second straight shutout and fourth of the season. All four have come since May 20. The Athletics have lost three straight and 14 of 15, getting outscored 117-44 in that span.

TORONTO (AP) — Nathan Lukes hit a game-winning single in the 11th inning and the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Padres 7-6 on Thursday to complete a three-game sweep, extending San Diego’s season-worst losing streak to six. Gavin Sheets hit two home runs and had five RBIs for San Diego, but the Padres couldn’t hold on after twice taking the lead in extra innings.

Jack Flaherty (2-5) allowed two runs in 5 2/3 innings and snapped a six-start winless streak with his first victory since April 4 against the White Sox.
