0 When I was sixteen, I was informed that I had multiple, incurable health conditions, and my life was forever changed. It was as though much of my freedom had been taken from me, within the thirty minutes in which I sat in the neurologist’s office. Any hopes I had of a ‘speedy recovery’ dwindled, and my future changed in an instant. A future that I still struggle to understand, halfway through my university degree.

0 Published in print edition 760 A change to the food outlets available on Streatham Campus has been met with mixed reviews by students. Over the summer, there have been some alterations to the food offerings available to students in Devonshire House. The £2 meal outlet, called the ‘Super Savour Kitchen’ has changed locations from DH2 to The Terrace. Its previous location is now occupied by an Asian-themed stall called ‘Sushi Boba Poké’.

0 Within the past few weeks, the University of Exeter, in partnership with other Universities, has announced groundbreaking research conclusions to aid the understanding of Dementia. In linked papers with Maastricht University, researchers have put forward research demonstrating how DNA methylation, a genetic marker, can help understand how genetics and lifestyle factors influence dementia risk. DNA methylation acts as a tag, attached to DNA, with the ability to control genes.

0 University life can be daunting, especially for Freshers. You find yourself in a new city, studying new subjects, balancing deadlines, and living independently. Trying to find groups of friends and hobbies to pursue can often add to this stress. However, the University of Exeter has a wide range of societies that make this process much easier, with the number of student-led groups reaching over three hundred.

0 The 96th Academy Awards was incredibly interesting in its nominations as well as its wins. Oppenheimer swept the floor with a total of seven wins, including Best Director and Best Picture. Poor Things came in at a close second with four wins and The Zone of Interest was the only other film to score multiple Oscars. Despite being the highest grossing film of 2023, Barbie only won a single award, for best original song.
