0 The NHS is set to stop the regular prescription of puberty blockers for young people. This comes after a review concluded there was not enough evidence for the drug’s safety. The treatments will now only be available through clinical trials to regulate the safety and effectiveness of the hormone drugs. Puberty supressing hormones (GnRH) can be used to ‘delay the changes of puberty in transgender and gender-diverse youth’.

0 Anatomy of a Fall is perhaps at first not the most obviously appealing film, the run time is long (two and a half hours), and the dialogue is constantly changing between English and French – which can be tricky to follow if you’re not a fast reader. That being said, after the first half an hour I found myself deeply invested in the lives of the characters.

0 Director Dennis Villeneuve made a splash in the realm of Science Fiction films when he released Dune: Part One in October 2021. Despite the massive hype surrounding this film, and the star-studded cast, the reviews were mixed. As a fan of Frank Herbert’s 1965 book Dune, I came out of the first instalment of this franchise deeply bored, and deeply unimpressed. I felt like I had watched three hours of uninteresting world-building and exposition.

0 The new biographical movie, Bob Marley: One Love, was an interesting yet heart-breaking watch. From learning about his younger life through flashbacks as well as his final years in desperation to spread love and peace, I believe this film did justice in portraying his undying spirit. We start the film with learning about the political situation in Jamaica in the 1970s which spurred Marley’s idea to hold a concert, ‘Smile Jamaica’, in order to promote peace.
