    TULSA, Okla — 2 News has received tips from concerned residents regarding car burglaries in the city. Ashley Grassam is one of those concerned citizens, saying her father's truck was burglarized earlier this month. She hid her purse inside while they went out to eat, but burglars found it, stealing it and everything inside, including her birth certificate and credit cards. She said she thinks TPD needs to do more to help stop the perpetrators.

    TULSA, Okla — On Memorial Day 2025, many parts of Green Country were still dealing with flooding from the weekend storms. Still, people didn't let that stop them from making the most of the holiday. Trent McBride is a professional fisherman. He said because of the weather, Skiatook Lake was above sea level by several feet, which made it easier to get some bites at the end of his line. “The main thing that I try to look out for is heavy wind or lightning," he said.

    FORT GIBSON, Okla — The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) responded to a rockslide that started early Sunday morning. ODOT reported that SH-80 lanes are all closed for the safety of residents to make sure roads are cleared in case the problem gets worse as more storms are predicted to pass through. Tambra Blackwell is the owner of Blackwell’s Dam River Trading Post along with her husband. She said he got to get a glimpse of the rockslide before SH-80 was closed down.

    SKIATOOK, Okla — Skiatook was one of the areas affected by storms that hit early morning on May 24. According to Bryan Turner, the foreman for Skiatook's Electric Department, about 550 households were impacted by power outages. Crews are currently working to get power back on for residents by Saturday evening. Billy Woods has been living in Skiatook for 18 years and is one of the residents whose power went out. “We're just waiting for it to kick back on," said Woods.

    BARNSDALL, Okla — The City of Barnsdall is working to permanently fix the Waxhoma Dam, after construction for temporary fixes has been done for years. 2 News has been covering these developments closely: Local News The mayor of Barnsdall, Johnny Kelley, said the dam’s current state is stable enough to handle severe weather that’s predicted over the weekend. He said the city has been trying to permanently fix the dam for about four years.
