The downtown Bozeman restaurant Dave’s Sushi has settled its lawsuits with seven food poisoning victims, court records show, just over two years after 51 patrons fell ill and two people died after eating there. The settlement amounts to plaintiffs are confidential, though court documents show each claim exceeds $75,000. A lawyer who spoke on the condition of anonymity said the total claims “far exceed” the restaurant’s insurance policy limit, which is either $1 million or $2 million.
