Basilica Block Party is going to Boom Island in northeast Minneapolis this year, and it just announced its lineup. Goo Goo Dolls and Counting Crows will be the headliners during the two-day event. Besides Goo Goo Dolls, Friday will also feature The Fray, Dean Lewis, Red Clay Strays and Yam Haus. Saturday’s ticket will include Needtobreathe, Judah & The Lion, Phillip Phillips, Ingrid Andress and Guytano. Tickets are sold on the Basilica Block Party website.

Sencha Tea Bar and Five Watt Coffee have merged under a new business, Amplified Experiences. Five Watt CEO Lee Carter and Sencha Tea Bar co-owner Brian Friese bought a majority stake in Five Watt to merge it with Sencha. Both have a stake in the new brand. Carter will be CEO of Amplified Experiences, Friese will be CFO of the company and Holly Gale, a co-owner and director of operations at Sencha, will be the merged company's COO.

The team behind Crave American Kitchen & Sushi Bar is bringing a steakhouse to St. Louis Park’s West End. Kaskaid Hospitality is planning Boketto, a Japanese-inspired steakhouse, for the former site of TV chef Andrew Zimmern’s Lucky Cricket Chinese restaurant at 1607 West End Blvd. Ben Krsnak, executive vice president of Hempel Cos., which bought Shops at West End in 2022, said it brings a new offering to an area dense with business traffic.

Playwrights’ Center has been in the Seward neighborhood of Minneapolis for about 45 years serving storytellers and audiences. It’s soon set to move to St. Paul to usher in a new era for the building at 710 Raymond Ave., a property with a history of family and horses. The site was most recently home to Viking Industrial Center, a retailer for contractors. It’s not a likely match — and the move is going to cost Playwrights’ Center (PWC) about $18 million in public and private funds.

Simon Property Group is bringing some luxury fashion titans to Southdale Center in Edina. Fashion houses Gucci, Moncler and Max Mara and luxury watch maker Breitling are coming to the mall, according to an announcement from Simon (NYSE: SPG) Friday evening. The stores are slated to open starting in the fourth quarter of this year. They're the first round of a series of announcements expected in the coming months.
