At the same time, annual median family income rose only 28%, from $79,316 in 2011 to $102,019 in 2021.

This is my plea: The Vallejo City Council again enforce its own anti-camping ordinance. As a resident and taxpayer, I feel ignored by the city’s neglect of homeless encampments. My pleas:Focus on opening the Navigation Center. Clear public spaces of encampments, so that Gov. Newsom will not withhold state funds for Vallejo. Clear encampments at the foot of Georgia Street, plus those surrounding the ferry parking garage, and around the JFK Library. These are critical public spaces.

An open letter to our current Vallejo City Council:Last year, the City of Vallejo supported an ersatz Earth Day and other events. This program was allocated funding in 2023 for a series of unnamed events. As usual, our staff got this passed without any environmental community input. Fortunately, some of our local artists like Askari Sowonde and Mario Saucedo opposed it. In addition to the “Earthdaz” event, the City supported a fake flyway festival. Last year’s event was sponsored by Tesla.
