While battles in Tekken 8 may be heated, they can’t compete with the ongoing clash between the game’s developers and its highly vocal playerbase. Season 2 of Tekken 8 recently kicked off with the new DLC character Anna and a total rebalance of the game’s fighting game mechanics. Tekken 8 inherently emphasizes fiery, aggressive play with its divisive Heat mechanic that powers up its fighters into offensive juggernauts.

No one likes it when someone does things begrudgingly. Grudges in general have a bad reputation, so begrudges must be even worse. Any begrudged feelings will surface in the final product, making it obvious to everyone that experiences it that whoever was behind it didn’t want to get the job done. When I played through Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, its begrudging nature pierced me like its iconically merciless enemies.

You shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, so I won’t. After all, this is a video game review. In the case of Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana, the cover just happens to be the most notable point of discussion. Everyone already knows that The Oath in Felghana is an all-time classic…or maybe you don’t even know what an Ys is? Well, my point is that this re-release creates a situation where I need to judge the cover by its book rather than the other way around.

Antonblast has an explosive personality and it wants you to know it. Virtually every moment of this chaotic platformer blasts you with loud noises, violently shakes the screen, and overloads your senses with visual clutter. I don’t mind a game that is bursting with ideas, but these ones cause some collateral damage. Antonblast wants to be a wild ride while also being a precise and challenging one. These elements don’t mix so much as they explode on contact, making a giant mess.

Dragon Ball pushes limits. Anyone familiar with this series knows that the villains always pose more of a threat than the last one, Goku always gets stronger to fight them, and the universe(s) always get bigger to accommodate the escalation. Sparking! Zero captures that spirit to break boundaries with a staggeringly large roster of playable characters, a keen attention to detail in its visuals, and the opportunity to create your dream DB scenarios.

Secret Level is a big undertaking. With a lot of work put in by Blur Studios who makes incredible animated cutscenes and more, you figured it would be. Given the scale of this series, it makes sense that we take it on in a similar fashion. We’ve assembled a dream team of our own at GamingTrend to take a look under the hood, see what makes Secret Level tick, and give you their thoughts on why (or why not) you should spend time watching this highly advertised Prime Video show.
