The 17-year-old junior accepted a resolution from the City of Lima at Wednesday’s mayoral press conference, recognizing May 15 through June 15 as Tourette Awareness Month.

May 23—LIMA — Lima Mayor Sharetta Smith said she was proud the city was being recognized for having a lower cost of living following a study from SmartAsset. The study found that from 2023 to 2024, Lima's cost of living fell more than any other city in America to 7.2 percent below the national average.

May 22—LIMA — Brevin Luna was sentenced to two consecutive non-mandatory terms of 18 months and one of six years minimum following a hearing in the Allen County Common Pleas Court on Thursday. The 21-year-old Lima man pleaded guilty to unlawful sexual contact with a minor and pandering sexual material involving a minor in April. "I am sorry to everyone," Luna said at the hearing. May 21—LIMA — The City of Lima is set to cut the ribbon on the Lima Community Aquatic Park next month. The pools will not yet be open, but at 10 a.m. Friday, June 27, residents can come to the park to see the completed structures and take tours through the grounds at 1005 E. Elm St."The park will not be open for swimming at that time," Mayor Sharetta Smith said at her weekly press conference Wednesday. "This gives everyone an opportunity to see the facility, and there will also be tours conducted.

May 20—LIMA — A few special things will be in store for attendees at this year's Lima Memorial Day Parade. The event will start at 10 a.m. Monday, May 26, moving from Northland Plaza toward downtown along North Main Street and featuring a full military section, national anthem singers and a larger celebration afterward. "We're really focused on why the parade takes place," Friends of Lima organizer Aaron Poling said. "I don't want to lose sight of why we're doing the Memorial Day Parade.
