Emergency responders and law enforcement stopped a stolen ambulance with spike strips in the St. James area, according to a news release from Phelps Health. An individual unlawfully entered a Phelps Health ambulance on the hospital campus in Rolla Thursday and drove the vehicle eastbound on Interstate 44, according to the news release. No injuries were reported to the suspect, the public or any emergency personnel, according to the news release.

Charges have been dropped against a man who was accused in a July 2024 fatal shooting in Fulton. The case against Emmanuel Brown was dismissed in April, Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney Sandra Colhour confirmed Thursday. A grand jury indicted two other people on charges including first-degree murder in connection to the shooting death of 19-year-old Jakiem Braggs on July 16, 2024. Mitchell Henderson Jr. and Quiara Walton are still charged in connection to the shooting.

COLUMBIA — A suspect is in custody following a standoff with police at a residence on Lambeth Drive in north Columbia. KOMU 8 saw at least seven Columbia police officers and a Boone County sheriff's vehicle at the scene in the area of Lambeth Drive and Squire Circle just before 7 p.m. Wednesday. An officer told KOMU 8 that a suspect had barricaded themself inside their house. A KOMU 8 reporter saw at least one police officer with a rifle, and multiple residents were outside watching.
