Independent senator Lidia Thorpe strode up the aisle shouting that she did not accept his sovereignty. “You committed genocide against our people. Give us our land back. Elon Musk handed out the first $1m cheques to attendees at events supporting Donald Trump, after promising to give one million dollars away each day to someone who signs his online petition backing the Constitution. The tech billionaire gave the first prize to an audience member reportedly called John Dreher at an America political action committee (PAC) event in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, which is aimed at rallying supporters behind the Republican presidential candidate.

Tributes have poured in for Liam Payne, after the former One Direction star was found dead at a hotel in Buenos Aires. TV presenter Dermot O’Leary called it “the worst news” in a post on Instagram, which featured a photo of him standing on stage with Payne. “I remember him as a 14 year old turning up to audition on The X Factor, and blowing us away singing Sinatra. He just loved to sing,” he wrote. “He was always a joy, had time for everyone, polite, grateful, and was always humble.
