The annual Cox Green Village Fayre is set to return for another year this Saturday with an action-packed programme for guests to enjoy. Visitors to the free-to-enter event at Brill Green in Cox Green Lane will be treated to a host of stalls, entertainment, performances, food and more. The popular fayre will be opened by Royal Borough mayor Cllr Simon Bond at noon and will feature local craft and charity stalls for all ages, alongside Basil & Crew’s mobile zoo.

Dozens of skaters, bikers and scooter riders showed off their skills at the Twyford Skatepark Opening Jam on Saturday. Guests were at the new facility in the King George V Recreation Ground to celebrate its official opening following a £200,000 transformation project, funded through Twyford Parish Council. The original skatepark at the location was built nearly 20 years ago and a project had been initiated last year to provide an upgraded space for users.

Towns and villages across the Royal Borough were decorated in red, white and blue over the Bank Holiday weekend as residents marked the 80th anniversary of VE Day. In 1945, residents gathered on Cookham Moor to celebrate Victory in Europe (VE) with a bonfire and party, and on Sunday, around 500 to 600 people gathered once again for an afternoon of celebration at Cookham Village Event’s VE Day Picnic on the Moor.
