A German energy company plans to lay off 73 employees from its Boston-based US offshore wind arm, according to state filings. RWE Offshore Wind Services, LLC said in a notice filed with state regulators Friday it will cut its Boston-area workforce by May 6. “Last year we announced that, due to market conditions and increased risk profile, we would delay certain expenditures related to our US offshore wind development projects,” the company said in a statement.

Felix Baukholt, a German national and the vehicle’s registered owner, was in the passenger seat, according to authorities, and had an expired visa. After Maland stopped the Toyota, multiple Border Patrol agents approached the vehicle, according to an affidavit filed in federal court. Youngblut allegedly opened fire with a handgun, and Baukholt allegedly tried to draw his own weapon. The agents fired back, and when the smoke cleared, both Baukholt and Maland had been fatally wounded.

Many Boston-area residents who ventured outside early Saturday morning enjoyed light snow after frigid temperatures gripped the Northeast this week. Around one to two inches accumulated across New England as of Saturday morning, with two to three inches expected by the end of the day, according to NWS senior meteorologist Frank Nocera. Boston’s North Shore may see the greatest snowfall of up to four inches.

Garry Dunnigan held a sheath of photographs of his late father, George, as he sat with his family at the USS Constitution Museum on Saturday, 83 years to the day after George Dunnigan survived the attack on the US naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The elder Dunnigan, a chief warrant officer in the US Navy, was getting dressed for Sunday Mass on Dec. 7, 1941, when he heard explosions outside his battleship and climbed to the top deck.
