In a perfect world, the NFL trade deadline would feature fireworks with Super Bowl contenders acquiring the best players from the teams who have much longer odds at competing. It’s not always a perfect world, of course. And there’s certainly a world in which the most entertaining deadline deals include a late-round pick swap for someone not even known to the casual fan. Well, until Tuesday’s 4 p.m. ET deadline passes, we’re not going to operate in that world.

Ezekiel Elliott has had a good-not-great campaign with the New England Patriots. But given where New England stands after eight weeks, there’s reason to believe the organization could sell ahead of Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline. According to Boston Sports Journal’s Greg Bedard, the Patriots will listen closely on calls including the veteran running back.

Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs’ offense was not at its best against the Denver Broncos on Sunday afternoon. And the Broncos did everything they could to make sure Kelce and his teammates wouldn’t be able to shake it off easily. Denver blasted the music of Taylor Swift over the loud speaker at Empower Field at Mile High after it earned a stunning 24-9 victory over Kansas City in Week 8. The petty but awesome victory lap obviously was a nod toward Kelce, who is dating Swift.

Football fans and media members were quick to think Jalen Ramsey fooled Mac Jones when the Miami Dolphins cornerback intercepted the New England Patriots quarterback late in the first half.
