The Norwalk Common Council officially received the recommendations from the Reapportionment Committee on Tuesday that laid out how the council and Board of Education districts should be realigned to make them more equal. However, instead of taking action, the council sent the recommendations to its Public Safety and General Government Committee for further evaluation and discussion.

How does the city plan to make sure that roads are accessible for all users? Who decides if a project should be required to add a sidewalk or a bike lane? These are some questions the Common Council’s Ordinance Committee looks to answer as it drafts a Complete Streets ordinance. “Norwalk seeks to improve its transportation infrastructure by implementing Complete Streets transportation planning, policy, and design,” a statement in the draft reads.

Family fun including live music, a unique car show, food, and a silent auction are all on the agenda for the 7th Annual Rallye for Pancreatic Cancer planned for Sunday Sept. 15 (rain date: Sept.22) from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Riverview East, 148 East Avenue in Norwalk. It all begins with a motorcade of imported, custom, and classic cars at 10 a.m. from Veteran’s Memorial Park, located at 42 Seaview Avenue, to Riverview East, where attendees can talk to the vehicles’ owners.
